You can cook Mega Protein Bars using 6 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.
Ingredients of Mega Protein Bars
- Prepare 1 cup of honey.
- You need 1 cup of natural nut butter (try half almond half peanut butter!).
- You need 3 cup of granola of your choice (or rolled oats for lower cal).
- Prepare 2 cup of vanilla protein isolate (any protein powder works fine, this gives highest protein content).
- You need 5 of drops vanilla extract.
- Prepare 1 of Mix-ins: try craisins, almond slices, ground flax, chocolates, cashews, etc...whatever you desire.
Mega Protein Bars step by step
- Melt nut butter and honey together over very low heat until runny.
- Stir in vanilla, granola, and protein. Keep stirring until it's no longer dry, adding a few drops of water at a time if necessary..
- Add mix-ins. This recipe will take between 1/2-1 cup depending on what you add before it falls apart..
- Press into a 8x8 or 9x9 pan lined with parchment paper and refrigerate a few hours until set. Cut into 16 bars..
- My favorite combination so far: 1/2 Jif Natural Creamy PB and 1/2 MaraNatha Creamy Almond Butter, Bare Naked Protein granola, Intek Evolution vanilla isolate, and 1/2c sliced almonds. It packs cal: 308, fat: 15g, carbs: 32g, protein: 17g. Nutritional values will vary depending on your choice of ingredients..
